Dr. Lawrence M. Boyd has spent more than 30 years working across the full medical device lifecycle — from early concept and clinical need through design controls, risk management, testing, regulatory strategy, intellectual property, and commercialization.
He has invented products, led development teams, founded ventures, supported commercial launches, and helped companies navigate the technical and regulatory complexity of bringing medical technologies to market.
Through Palmetto Biomedical, Dr. Boyd brings that experience to medical device companies, startups, investors, and legal teams who need both technical depth and the ability to explain complex issues clearly. His role as Professor of the Practice at Clemson keeps him actively engaged in teaching the same frameworks that govern responsible medical device development.
